Olivia Loccisano is a filmmaker and screenwriter whose work focuses on transformations of the body through dark fantasy, body horror, and magical realism. Her narratives explore how women and girls navigate the world through their own imagination and rituals.

Her stop-motion short film POCKET PRINCESS (2024) is currently in its festival run; it has premiered at festivals including Fantaspoa, Morbido, Brooklyn Film Festival, Razor Reel Flanders, and Blood in the Snow. The film was nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the BAFTA-Qualifying British Urban Film Festival (BUFF).

Her debut short film, FIRST BLOOD (2023, on ALTER), premiered at Blood in the Snow, Fantasia, Chicago International Film Festival, and Final Girls Berlin, among others. The film received critical acclaim for its portrayal of menstruation and vampirism, winning the Jury Prize at Paris in the Dark Film Festival. The film was developed from Olivia’s script SIMONE which won Best Short Screenplay at the Renegade Film Festival in 2022.

Loccisano’s short script BODY AND BLOOD (2022) received accolades that placed it on Coverfly’s Red List. The script remains one of the platform’s top-ranked screenplays of all time.

Her short stories and poetry have appeared in literary journals such as Coffin Bell Journal, La Piccioletta Barca, Drunk Monkeys, and Pink Plastic House. Her chapbook FORBIDDEN NURSERY RHYMES FOR LITTLE GIRLS (2025) was published by Dancing Girl Press.

Olivia also works a story editor and script consultant for both for feature and short scripts.

Loccisano’s work has received support from the Canada Council for the Arts (CCA), Ontario Arts Council (OAC), Toronto Arts Council (TAC), and the National Film Board of Canada (NFB).
